You can cancel an order with NriDirect at any time. The only money you ever pay us is our own assistance fee, so what you get back depends on one thing: how much of the work has already been done. This page sets that out. It sits alongside our Refund Policy and Terms of Service.
Our fee covers guidance and assistance: confirming which service you actually need, checking your documents, preparing your forms and photographs to the current specification, submitting your application, and staying reachable while it is processed. It does not buy a decision. Decisions and processing times rest solely with the relevant authority, and we are not affiliated with any government body or VFS Global.
If you cancel before we have begun preparing your application, you get a full refund of our fee. In practice this covers most cancellations, because we ask you to message us before you order and we do not start until you have sent your documents.
Once we have started — a checklist built for your case, documents reviewed, forms drafted, photographs reformatted, or an appointment booked — a partial refund is available, reduced by the work already completed. We will tell you the figure and how it was arrived at before anything is processed, and you are free to disagree with it.
Our work is complete when your prepared application has been submitted. After that point our fee is not refundable, because the service you paid for has been delivered in full. Withdrawing the application itself afterwards is a matter between you and the authority handling it.
Government, consular, High Commission, VFS Global and courier fees are paid by you directly to those organisations. They never form part of our fee and are not refundable through NriDirect, so cancelling with us has no effect on them. Any refund of those fees would have to be taken up with the organisation that charged them.
If we have booked a VFS Global or High Commission appointment for you, cancelling with us does not cancel that appointment. Tell us as soon as you know, and we will cancel or reschedule it where the provider’s own rules still allow it.
As a consumer buying online, you normally have 14 days from placing your order to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. If you ask us to begin within that period, you keep the right to cancel but may be charged for the work already done; once the service has been fully performed at your request, the right ends. Nothing on this page takes away rights you have by law.
We may decline or stop work on an order — for example if the service ordered is not the right one for your circumstances, if we cannot obtain the documents needed to proceed, or if we are asked to submit something we believe to be inaccurate. Where we cancel and the work has not been completed, you receive a full refund of our fee.
Email [email protected] or message us on WhatsApp at +44 7454 034747, quoting your order number. We will confirm your cancellation and what it means for your fee within 5 working days. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method within 10 working days.
