Where These Applications Actually Fail

My marriage certificate is only in English but was issued outside India — is that still a problem?

My spouse became a British citizen years ago — does that rule me out?
Not necessarily. What matters is whether your spouse currently holds an Indian passport or OCI card, not their British citizenship status. Someone can hold British citizenship and still retain an OCI card. We look at your spouse's actual documents rather than assuming either way.
Is the two-year marriage rule counted from the wedding date or the date we started living together?

Could my OCI be taken away if we later separate?
It isn't cancelled automatically the moment your circumstances change, but the authorities retain discretion to review or cancel an OCI granted through marriage if the situation changes materially.
