Surrender, OCI, sorted — one bundle, one fee
Once you take British citizenship, Indian law requires you to surrender your Indian passport before you can hold an OCI card. Two applications, two VFS visits, two sets of paperwork — handled separately, it's a months-long puzzle. Our Surrender + OCI bundle handles both stages under one fixed £160 service fee. We pre-fill both portal forms, send you a clear signing pack, book your VFS appointment(s), and review every document before submission. You stay home; we handle the paperwork.
You should book the bundle if you:
If you only need the Surrender Certificate or only the Fresh OCI Application, those services are available standalone — but the bundle is the cleanest route when you need both.
You'll need your original Indian passport (every page — keep colour scans before you submit), your current British passport with at least six months remaining, your Home Office naturalisation certificate, proof of UK address from within the last three months, two recent 2x2 inch photos on a white background, your full birth certificate (Indian or UK), proof of Indian origin from a parent or grandparent, and a marriage certificate if your name has changed since the Indian passport was issued. We tell you exactly what to scan and send.
For a fixed £160 service fee you get the surrender application on the official Indian government portal, the OCI portal application prepared after the Surrender Certificate is issued, both forms pre-filled with sample-marked signing instructions, document review against current High Commission requirements, VFS Global appointment booking for both stages, free name-change template and work-letter template if needed, application tracking and status updates from start to delivery, and free re-preparation if either application is rejected because of an error on our side. The £160 covers our service across both stages — VFS and government fees are paid separately to VFS.
We see UK applicants run into these recurring mistakes: applying for OCI before the Surrender Certificate is in hand (the OCI portal will reject); continuing to use the Indian passport after British naturalisation, which can trigger penalties under the Indian Passport Act 1967; surrendering the original without first keeping a colour scan of every page; UK-spec passport photos instead of the 2x2 inch Indian specification; bringing only photocopies to VFS when originals are required; and forgetting to declare a name change between the Indian and British passports. Our pre-submission review catches all of these.
Plan for 8 to 10 weeks end-to-end. Surrender Certificate: 1 to 2 weeks after VFS submission. OCI card: 25 to 35 days after OCI submission. Times can flex with VFS workload. If your VFS slot is hard to find, the bundle includes booking — no separate VFS Priority Appointment needed.
Holding an Indian passport after acquiring foreign citizenship is an offence under the Indian Passport Act, 1967. The Indian Citizenship Act, 1955 does not recognise dual citizenship. Surrender is mandatory; OCI is the route that restores India access for the long term.
The bundle exists because Surrender + OCI is the most common journey we run for newly-naturalised British clients, and the saving on duplicate review work is real. We process this combination every week, in English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Gujarati. You can reach the team on phone, WhatsApp, and email throughout — including evenings and weekends.

We pre-fill both portal applications in one workflow using the same document pack, which removes the duplicate review work. The £130 service fee is fixed. The High Commission/VFS fees for the Surrender Certificate and OCI card are paid separately to VFS — those are government charges, not ours.
Typically 8 to 10 weeks end-to-end. The Surrender Certificate is usually issued within 1–2 weeks of your VFS visit, and the OCI card follows roughly 6–8 weeks after the OCI submission. Times can vary with VFS workload.
No. The entire process is online with NRIDirect. You only attend VFS in person — once for surrender, once for OCI biometrics. Some applicants can do both at the same VFS visit; we'll confirm based on your case.
No. There is no time limit. Late surrenders are routine and we handle them every week. You may need an explanatory letter, which we draft for you.
You'll need a UK police report and an affidavit, plus a copy of the lost passport if available. We provide affidavit templates and walk you through the additional steps.
Yes. Minors can apply with a parent's submission. Each child is a separate application, but we coordinate the family pack so VFS appointments align.
If the rejection is caused by an error on our side, we re-prepare the application at no extra service fee. If the High Commission requests additional documents, we help you respond promptly.
No. India does not permit dual nationality. The OCI card is the closest equivalent — it grants lifelong visa-free travel and the right to live, work, and own property in India, but it is not citizenship.
