There are three separate costs to an OCI application from the UK. First, the government (consular) fee — £215 per applicant — paid to the Indian authorities, plus £3 ICWF. Second, the VFS Global service charge of £29.78 per application, paid at the VFS centre. That is £247.78 all-in. Third, optional extras like secure return courier (£8 for 3–5 days, £15 next day) and SMS updates (£2). If you apply through a service like NriDirect, our fee is on top and covers the application preparation, document verification, and VFS booking.
If you held an Indian passport and have naturalised as British, you will normally want a Surrender Certificate — £30 plus £2 ICWF and the £29.78 VFS charge, so £61.78 all-in. Note that VFS UK now states a *renunciation* certificate is not mandatory for an OCI application; the surrender certificate is the document worth having. Our combined package runs both steps together so you don't wait twice. Toggle the surrender option above to include it in your estimate.
